Mohun Bagan registered an important 3-2 victory over Salgaocar in their first away leg of the Hero Federation Cup 2016 played at the Tilak Maidan, Goa on Monday, 2nd May. It was Jeje Lalpekhlua who scored the first goal when the clock read 27 seconds after he comfortably netted the ball from a Subhash Singh cross. Salgaocar FC staged a comeback which saw them go into the break with 2-1 lead. First it was Martin Scott who received the ball from Saran Singh and finished with a fine effort to get the equalizer. Five minutes later, Cavin Mbarga found the back of the net from a Daryl Duffy pass. It was the 77th minute when Mohun Bagan staged a late comeback with Abhishek Das making it 2-2 from Katsumi Yusa's cross and then Jeje completed his brace in the 83rd minute. Mohun Bagan will now go into the second leg at their home on 5th May with a 3-2 aggregate in their favor.
