AIFF will be studying the J-League in depth to improve their very own I-League. J-League's success story is known to any football entity and AIFF will look to grasp some secrets when they tour Japan accompanied by the Asian Football Confederation(AFC). The tour will have two representatives from each i-League clubs. The five day tour will be a chance for the 28 representatives to watch closely how the J-League clubs manage various concerned issues including ticket sales, Infrastructures, Marketing, Security and so on. They will also meet the J-League officials and would get the opportunity to watch few J-League matches.
Meanwhile, Next season's i-League will be a 14 team affair with the Public Sector Teams like Air India and HAL included. The PSU Clubs will thus get another opportunity and more importantly more time to transform themselves to private entities. I-league will most likely kick off from October 15 or 16 with the first match to be held either in Kolkata or Pune.
