Mohun Bagan and Bengaluru FC suffered heavy defeats in their final league encounter of the AFC Cup 2016.

The Mariners lost 3-0 to Hong Kong's South China at home in the Group G encounter. Mohun Bagan fielded an under strength side going into the tie having already sealed the top spot. The stakes were high for South China who needed a win to secure their place in the knockouts. South China were the better of the two sides and sealed the game in the first half itself with all the three goals coming before the lemon break. Law Hiu Chun, Ryan Griffiths and Mahama Awal scored for the visitors as they progressed to the knockout stages.

JDT: Safiq Bin Rahim(70th), Mohammed Safi(78th), Mohammed Shakir(Penalty 90th)
In the Group H clash played at the Stadium Tan Sri Dato' Haji Yunos between I-League champions Bengaluru FC and group leaders Malaysia's Johor Darul Ta'zim(JDT), the Blues suffered similar fate as the host came out on top with a 3-0 victory. All the goals came in the second half with Safiq Bin Rahim, Mohammed Safi and Mohammed Shakir scoring for JDT.
Mohun Bagan will host Singapore's Tampines Rovers on 24th May, 2016 in the Round of 16 while Bengaluru FC will travel to Hong Kong to face Kitchee SC on 25th May 2016.
