East Bengal were held to a goalless draw at home in the Hero i-League tie by Sporting Goa, which meant their i-League title dream comes to an end. Despite Sporting going down to ten men for most part of the second half after Mehrajuddin Wadoo was sent off in the 59th minute, East Bengal could not make their extra man count. In the dying moments of the game, even East Bengal were reduced to 10 men as Narayan Das was given marching orders.

The title race now is between Bengaluru FC and Mohun Bagan, with the former having a chance to secure the title when they face Salgaocar FC on Sunday. If the Bengaluru outfit however fail to snatch victory, Mohun Bagan's title hope will be decided on the final day when they face-off against Bengaluru FC at home.
