Bengaluru FC defeated Ayeyawady United 5-3 in the Group H clash of the AFC Cup 2016 played at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bangalore on Wednesday, 13th April 2016. In a attacking game which featured 8 goals split 5-3 in Bengaluru FC's favor, it was the home side who started brightly and should have been up by two or three goals but for some poor finishing. Vineeth CK opened the scoring which ultimately opened the floodgates. Alwyn George went on to score a brace while goals from Doungel and Beikhokai ensured that the Blues emerge victorious after former Mohun Bagan forward Christopher Chizoba scored a second half brace to bring his side back to the game as the scoreline at one moment read 3-3. But Bengaluru FC came out as deserved winner with their continuous attacking display.

With the victory, Bengaluru FC having 6 points in their kitty from 4 games are now in second spot in their Group (H) with Johor Darul Tazim occupying the top spot with 4 victories out of 4. Bengaluru FC will host Lao Toyota next on 27th April 2016.
