MB: Katsumi Yusa(73rd - Assist Sony Norde)
Captain Katsumi Yusa's second half strike proved crucial as Sanjay Sen's men extended their lead at the top in the Hero i-League. Cornell Glen had a great chance to give Mariners the lead in the 11th minute but his weak effort was thrawted away by Loveday, after Dhanachandra's cross was not dealt properly by Arindam Bhattacharya. On the other hand, SC Goa's Ganesh Thakur's clever run was spotted by Nico Fernandes but the former's attempt was well saved by an alert Debjit Majumder. Brandon Fernandes who started the game replacing Kean Lewis had to be rushed to hospital after Densill Theobald's elbow hit the youngsters Adam's Apple. The home crowd were frustrated further when two penalty appeals for the home side were turned down by the referee. The deadlock was broken in the second half after Sony Norde chipped the ball over an out of position Arindam and skipper Katsumi Yusa finishing from close range after Balwant missed his shot. Odafa Okolie penetrated the Bagan defense in the final minutes of the game but the Mariners defense marshalled by Debjit Majumder managed to keep the clean sheet intact.
