Mohun Bagan vs Maziya Sports & Recreation(Maldives) (24.02.2016, 19:00 IST)
Mohun Bagan will begin their AFC Cup 2016 journey on Wednesday, 24th February 2016 when they face Maldives Club Maziya Sports & Recreation at the Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium, Guwahati. The Mariners lost to Shandong Luneng in the AFC Champions League second round qualifiers after defeating Tampines Rovers in the first round of qualifiers.
Mohun Bagan are the only team who are undefeated in the Hero i-League, the national league of India and Sanjay Sen's men would hope to carry the momentum with them. Sony Norde will undoubtedly be their star man upfront with Cornell Glen Struggling in his last few matches to make a real impact. Assadhulla Abdulla, the skipper of the visiting side will undoubtedly be one of their key man.
Lao Toyota FC(Laos) vs Bengaluru FC(India) (24.02.2016, 16:30 PM IST)
The other Indian contingent in the AFC Cup 2016, Bengaluru FC will travel to Laos to face Lao Toyota FC. The current holders of Lao Premier League title will have a tough job against a strong Bengaluru FC side. The Laos side did not get a single win under their belt in the 2015 edition of AFC Cup. Japanese striker Kazuo Honma has got goals in him and Bengaluru FC defense will have to look to stop him. For Ashley Westwood's side Indian International Sunil Chhetri will not be available for selection following a problem with his groin.
