Team India played a really good brand of football in the semi-finals and against all odds defeated Maldives 1-0 thanks to a 85th minute powerful strike from defender Arnab Mondal. What was good to see was the focus and determination of the players. For the first time in the tournament India looked more determined to keep the ball on ground instead of the long ball strategy. There were many close chances in the match for both team, but only a late Arnab Mondal strike proved decisive as India walked out as the eventual winners of the epic semi finals clash. India will next face Afghanistan in the finals of the tournament.
