While Michael Chopra was on the stands watching the match, Indian team failed to make an impression. I wonder Chopra might reconsider his desire to play for India.
While India are grouped with three of the biggest Asian giants at the Asia Cup 2011, one wonders how well the team is prepared when it looses to a 103rd ranked Kuwait side by 9-1 scoreline.
Huge money are invested on training camps and these are the results we are getting from the national side. With the current set of players one wonder what might happen in January at the Asia Cup. Players who are performing well in the i-league or other trophies are not being given a single chance whereas the same set of 30 players are continuously under-performing.
Despite having players like Mehtab Hussain, Manish Mathani, Robert, Rowilson, Denson Devadas, Naoba we are forced to have the same team time and again, whose half of the side are full time injured.
AIFF has already delayed the i-league only because of getting some time for arranging more sponsers and the telecast partners but on the other side it is wasting huge sum on the national team and National Coach Bob Houghton. The Englishman is always backing the team and so are the players backing him up. May be, they know that their chances of staying at the team are bleak if Bob leaves.
Its high time for Indian team to have a complete revamp of the squad and even the coach or else get ready to face another humiliation!!
