While Gourmangi and Rahim Nabi were the standout performers for India, Surkumar and Yadav were a complete flop show. Yadav was too slow and lazy for a striker while Surkumar forgot his marker completely several time and making some awful passes at times. Surkumar's error also allowed Iraqi's to play the ball mostly towards the left half of the field. But Subrata was upto the task.
The second half saw Rafi replacing Yadav and brought some spark into the team. The team responded well with some neat passing. Iraq were pushed to their own half for some time during the second half. But Iraq showed their class to score the second goal in the 66th minute when there striker Khaled Bin Mohamed scored his second goal of the night as he grabbed the opportunity from a awful peace of defending by Surkumar before Subrata failed to catch a left footed shot from a Iraqi player. Iraq then dominated mostly till the final whistle but the scoreline remained 2-0 in their favor mainly due to some sublime saves from Subrata Paul.
Top performers: Gourmangi Singh, Subrata Paul and Rahim Nabi
Flop Performers:Surkumar Singh and Abhishek Yadav
India next faces Kuwait on 14th November.
