East Bengal and Mohun Bagan fails for fulfilling AFC Licensing Criteria

Both kolkata giants East Bengal and Mohun Bagan failed to fulfill the AFC Licensing criteria whereas Dempo, Churchill Brothers, JCT, Chirag United, Mumbai FC and Pune FC has got the clean chit.

Mohun Bagan and East Bengal faltered because of having the same chairman sponsoring the club. Business tycoon Vijay Mallya's owned UB group has got major stakes at both the clubs. However, the problem is not that bad because UB group are already considering appointment different chairmans for the two clubs.

Meanwhile Air India, HAL, ONGC, Salgaocar and Viva Kerala have also failed to fulfill the AFC criteria.

All the clubs will have to resolve their problems as directed by the AFC team by 31st December 2010.
