Amal Dutta passes away
Diamond coach Amal Dutta
passed away at the age of 86
India's first professional coach Amal Dutta passed away on Sunday evening, 10th July at the age of 86, in his residence in Kolkata.

The former Indian International midfielder, Amal Dutta was a part of 1954 Asian Games squad. Considered as one of the finest tactician in his era, having managed both the Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan and East Bengal. He was famously known for bringing in the "Diamond System" during his helm at Mohun Bagan which took Indian Football by a storm. He also held the post of Technical Director of Indian National Football Team in the Nehru Cup 1987. We condemn the loss of such an iconic figure of Indian football.
