Delhi Dynamos appoint Raman Vijayan as Assistant coach and Technical Director for Grassroots program |
Raman’s illustrious 12 year long career began with East Bengal FC after which he went on to play for FC Kochin, Mahindra United, Dempo and Mohammedan Sporting. He is one of the two Indian footballers to have finished as top scorer in the National League. Raman was also fondly nicknamed as the "Golden Boy" for his expertise at scoring winners in crucial games. In his 4 year stint with the National team, Raman played and scored in various prestigious tournaments like the Asian Games, SAFF cup, SAF games as well as the 1998 World Cup Qualifiers held at Qatar.
Commenting on his arrival at Delhi Dynamos, Raman Vijayan said, "It is a wonderful opportunity to be a part of Delhi Dynamos, the club’s project for grassroots is in line with my vision for growing football in this beautiful city."

On Raman Vijayan joining the team, Delhi Dynamos FC president Prashant Agarwal said, "The experience Raman brings with him is unparalleled. His passion for development of football at the grassroots level is in line with our club’s philosophy."
At the twilight of his playing career, Raman took to coaching. He completed his AFC A license in 2014 and had previously managed South United club for 3 years before taking charge at Chennai FC.
The veteran would without doubt be an inspirational figure in the dressing room and will mentor the Indian players in their bid to reach the next level in their playing careers. Raman is no stranger to a grassroots program; his passion for development of football at grassroots level is evident in the success of his residential football academy, Noble Football academy.
Raman Vijayan will join the rest of the technical staff at Delhi Dynamos and help prepare the team for their preseason, which starts in the 3rd week of August.
