i-League Transfers: Dempo SC officially announce Prathamesh Maulingkar signing

After Indian Football - The Blog had earlier confirmed the transfer of Pailan Arrows impressive defender Prathamesh Maulingkar's move to Goan giants Dempo SC he was officially unveiled by Armando Colaco's side.

Former Pailan Arrows defender, Prathamesh Maulingkar has officially signed for Dempo Sports Club today at their club house in Panjim.

Hailing from Mapusa in North Goa, the 21 year old Prathamesh impressed everyone with his performances at the AFC U-22 Asia Cup Qualifiers at Oman. He is expected to play a key role in the Dempo defence as several of their key defenders are nursing Injuries. Mahesh Gawli is reported to be out for at least 6 weeks due to a muscle injury while the others suffer from minor niggles periodically.

After honing his skills with Dempo SC Junior teams, Prathamesh joined Arrows in 2010 following satisfactory performances at the sub-junior tournaments. He was also selected for the Indian team participating in the U-22 Asian cup qualifiers, “It was my first International Tournament and playing against Iraq, UAE, Oman, Lebanon and other teams gave me a lot of confidence. It changed me as a player” said the 6.1 ft towering central defender at the club house.

Pailan Arrows have been swift and prompt in replying to Dempo sports Clubs request for releasing Prathamesh. They have observed his transition phase and believe that he is ready to take the next step. “We had requested the AIFF to release him and the federation has given a green signal. He will be our player for the ongoing I-League matches” said Head Coach Armando Colaco
