Blackburn makes easy work of Pune FC

Blackburn Rovers cruised to an easy win against i-League side Pune FC with a 3-0 win over the hosts despite a spirited effort put in by the Pune FC players. Pune FC's hopes of creating an nearly impossible upset came crashing down after defender Anas Edathodika was shown his second yellow card in the 12th minute of the game thus reducing Pune to 10 men. Pune FC were thus forced to opt for defensive strategy and that did not went well as the visitors scored once in the first half and twice in the second half.

In the absence of Indian International Subrata Paul, Shahinlal Meloly made a name for himself pulling off some stunning saves. Some of his saves were top class and Blackburn players also greeted him for putting up a strong performance under the bar.
