AFC Cup: Dempo play Al-Ansar Today

Dempo will play Al-Ansar today in an important group A fixture at the Balewadi Sports Complex, which might turn out to be a decider for second qualification spot. If Dempo wins the encounter, they have a chance to progress to the knockout stages of the AFC Cup 2011. However, if in the other tie Al-Tilal manages to create an upset by defeating Uzbeki side Nasaf, then Dempo's win will be inconsequential and Al-Tilal will go through. But anything other than a win will mean an end for the campaign for the Goan club. The Lebanon side will need a win or a draw to advance to the next stage. Nasaf have already qualified for the knockout stages and are currently sitting on top of Group A with a perfect 15 points from 5 games. In the away match, Dempo were defeated by Al-Ansar 2-0 in their home ground.
