Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium to be developed as a Football stadium



In a South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) seminar Sports Minister Ajay Maken revealed that Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium which was the host for the Commonwealth games will be transformed to a football stadium. The Nehru stadium will be used for training of the National team.

Maken also said that the Sports Ministry has also identified two other stadiums boasting of floodlights that will be used for football. The Sports Ministry is also trying to identify which out of the 79 SAI training centers could be used for football.

It's really great news for Indian football. Good infrastructure, good ground & International level stadiums are much needed now to develop the quality of Football in India.

if 3-4 stadiums like this are created in india then india can surely bid for the FIFA world cup of 2026
