Decisions from Indian professional football meeting




The key decisions that came out of the Indian professional football meeting Chairmanship of AFC President Mohamed Bin Hammam are as follows:

The 10 clubs, which complied with the I-League criteria, are: 

1. McDowell Mohun Bagan (Salt Lake Stadium)
2. Kingfisher East Bengal (Salt Lake Stadium)
3. Chirag United SC (Barasat Stadium -  Stadium Improvement Pending)
4. Viva Kerala(Jawahar Stadium -  Stadium Improvement Pending)
5. Mumbai FC (Cooperage Football Stadium - Stadium Improvement Pending)
6. JCT Mills FC(Guru Nanak Stadium)
7. Pune FC (Ballewadi Stadium)
8. Churchill Brothers SC (Nehru Stadium)
9. Dempo SC (Nehru Stadium)
10. Salgaocar SC (Nehru Stadium)


The four clubs that have failed to meet the Licensing Criteria-ONGC, HAL,Air India and Indian Arrows will be given a period of one more season for complying to the criteria. But they will not be able to participate in Asian Champions League if they manage to win the i-league or finishes second or third.

Two teams will get promoted from Second Division I-League if and only if they manage to meet the Club Licensing Criteria else no clubs will get relegated from I-League.

The deadline for the clubs to improve their respective stadiums has been set to July 2011, after which another inspection would take place on September 2011. 

I-League’s 2011 season would kick off on September 2011.

Revision of following I-League Regulations:
Banning of the registration and participation of I-League clubs in other leagues other than the I-League
I-League club players should not be allowed to register with any other club other than I-League clubs.

The clubs should start implementing the home match operations, including and not limited to ticket sales, match operations, and security.
