AFC Challenge Cup 2012 Qualifiers: India thrash Chinese Taipei 3-0

The young Indian team thrashed the Chinese Taipei team 3-0 in their first match of AFC Challenge Cup 2012 Qualifiers played at MBPJ Stadium, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. India scored the three goals through Jeje(32'), Sunil Chhetri(76') and Jewel Raja(87'). India dominated the game most of the time under their new captain Sunil Chhetri. The forward line looked good with Jeje and Chhetri upfront. India's first goal came from a well placed cross from Steven Dias, which was guided to Jeje by captain Chhetri, and the debutant made no mistake to slot the ball past the Chinese Taipei goal. India went to the break with the 1-0 lead. Sunil Chhetri grabbed his first goal and the India's second goal in the 76th minute after which another debutant Jewel Raja found the back of the net from just outside the 18 yard box to complete the demolition.

India will next face arch rival Pakistan on 23rd March in their second match.
