Sports minister announced setting up of coaching centre and Football Academy in North East

Newly appointed sports minister Ajay Maken announced the setting up of a coaching centre and Football Academy. The Coaching centre will be established in Imphal whereas the Football Academy will be set up in Dimanpur, Nagaland.

The coaching centre will be a fourth of its kind in the nation after the likes of Patiala, Kolkata and Bangalore having similar coaching centres. The sports minister also spoke about the lack of coaches in North East region.

The football Academy at Nagaland was announced considering the poor infrastructure in the region. He also told that the development is just the beginning and will not be limited to North Eastern Region only.
