Chhetri released by Sporting KC

Sunil Chhetri's american dream came to a halt after he was officially released from the Sporting KC roster to make space for other players. Chhetri made only two appearances for KC during his stint with the MLS side, one in a US Open Cup for 45 minutes against Colorado Rapids and the other against Manchester United in a friendly. Earlier A-League side Perth Glory showed interest in him during the Asia Cup but no progress has been reported yet.
