Australia wins the match India wins heart

India was outdone by the mighty Australian team in the league stages of the AFC Asia Cup 2011. The final score turned out to be 0-4 in favor of the Aussies. For Australia Everton star Tim Cahill scored a brace whereas Harry Kewell and Brett Holman grabbed a goal each.

For India the star performer of the day was Subrata Paul. He pulled of some outrageous saves and did everything he had to, to stop the tall Aussie strikers to meet the crosses. Rahim Nabi and Deepak Mondal are also praise worthy along with Sunil Chhetri. While Nabi showed his versatility in the Midfield, Deepak Mondal despite playing very few matches before the Asia Cup did a commendable job at the back. Sunil Chhetri once again showed why he is considered one of the best strikers in India with his Work-a-holic nature.

It was heartening to see the Indian golie coming out of his line to stop the crosses from meeting Cahill's head. The performance he gave is one to remember and might just earn him a ticket to Europe or may be some big club in Asia for that matter. Backed by the enormous support of the fans India showed heart to restrict the scoreline to 0-4 despite conceeding 3 goals in the first half itself.

The confidence of the Indian players will not be down by an inch and there is no reason what so ever we cannot held our heads high for the Bahrain Match.
