Needing a win or a draw in their final league match, Shillong Lajong FC survived the relegation battle as they defeated East Bengal 1-0 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Shillong. Isaac Vanmalsawma scored the winner in the 62nd minute to ensure their survival in the Hero I-League. Shillong Lajong FC's survival meant Aizawl FC's exit from the top flight of Indian Football.

Mumbai FC ensured their place in the next seasons I-League with a thumping win over DSK Shivajians FC played at the Cooperage Stadium. Sushil Kumar Singh scored a brace while Jayesh Rane and Eric Brown scored a goal each.

With Salgaocar FC and Aizawl FC both finishing at 16 points each, but due to better head-to-head Salgaocar FC go through having defeated Aizawl FC once while drawing the other.
