Mohun Bagan's title hope further took a hit as the Mariners failed to get three points against a resilient Shillong Lajong side at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Shillong in the Hero i-League clash played on Tuesday, 4th April 2016. Mohun Bagan looked set to get away with a victory until a very late Uilliams Souza Silva strike saw both teams walk away with a point. It was Mohun Bagan who took an early lead in the 18th minute through Jeje Lalpekhlua after Cornell Glen scuffed a Pritam Kotal pass. Uilliams Silva grabbed the equalizer in the 40th minute from a well taken free-kick. The damage could have been further for the Mariners but the post came to the rescue as another Uilliams free-kick struck the wood work. Uilliam Silva's last gasp equalizer cancelled Bagan's skipper Katsumi Yusa's 77th minute strike as relegation-threatened Shillong Lajong's fight continued as they are now in 4th place with 15 points.
