Tata Football Academy clinched the LG U-19 IFA Shield 2016 title defeating AIFF Elite Academy 3-2(After Extra Time) in the finals played on Sunday, 6th March 2016 at the Mohun Bagan ground. AIFF Elite Academy took the lead when Jerry Lalrinzuala’s corner was headed home by Bodo. TFA's Shubham Ghosh equalized near the half time whistle. Tata Football Academy took the lead for the first time in the game when Shubham converted from the spot after a penalty was awarded in the 72nd minute. AIFF Academy however did not lose hope as they grasped a last minute equalizer when Jerry converted from an indirect free-kick. Tata Football Academy graduates grasped the winner in the 10th minute of extra time.
