India 2-0 Sri Lanka
India: Robin Singh(51st, 74th)

Team India registered a hard-fought victory against Sri Lanka in their opening match of Suzuki SAFF Cup 2015. Robin Singh scored two second half goals to give India a win against a defence-minded Sri Lankan side.

Stephen Constantine fielded an attack minded side with Jeje and Robin Singh leading the front line while Sunil Chhetri and Sanju Pradhan operated from the two sides. Blue Tigers lacked any real penetration in the first half as Sri Lanka absorbed the pressure. Bengaluru FC and Delhi Dynamos FC forward Robin Singh continued his good International form when he opened the scoring in 51st minute. The tall striker converted from a Sunil Chhetri's pass with a fierce left footed strike.

It was Robin Singh yet again on the scoresheet on 74th minute when he fired home from a goalmouth-melee after being fed by Sunil Chhetri. 18 year old Lallianzuala Chhangte, who impressed everyone with his goal scoring skills for DSK Shivajians was handed a senior team debut, when he replaced an injured Robin Singh. The scoreline remained 2-0 in India's favour.

Team India next play Nepal on 27th December 2015.
