Airtel i-League 2013-14: Round 3 Statistics

With the round 4 of Airtel i-League 2013-14 knocking at the doors we bring our statistical analysis of Airtel i-League Round 3 where we will look into every possible details we can bring up to you. So lets start the good work.

Round 3 of Airtel i-League 2013-14 saw the below results:

Bengaluru FC 1-0 United SC 
Salgaocar FC 3-0 Mohammedan SC 
Churchill Brothers 0-2 Mumbai FC
Shillong Lajong FC 0-1 SC Goa 
 Rangdajied United 2-2 Dempo SC  

The Airtel i-League Round 3 saw 11 goals and for the third consecutive round its the foreigners who have dominated the Indians in terms of goals scored. Indians could only manage 4 of the 11 goals with A.Fernandes (Salgaocar FC), Climax Lawrence (Mumbai FC), Lalnunpuia (Rangdajied United),
Sandesh Gadkari (Rangdajied United) being the goal-scorers.

Salgaocar FC's continued their excellent start to the season with a 3-0 victory which meant they were the highest goal scorers of the round.

It is interesting to see 4 clubs (Bengaluru FC, Mumbai FC, Salgaocar FC and SC Goa) out of the 11 clubs(2 clubs are yet to score), have managed to score in all the games they have played.

With 5 goals each for Bengaluru FC and United SC, they contribute the maximum share of the goals in the league with (14%) each.

Out of the goals the clubs have scored lets categorize the data to foreigners and Indians individually. Rangdajied United FC and Mohun Bagan are the only club who have not got any foreigners among their goal scorers while Pune FC and Mohammedan Sporting are the one's who have only foreign goal scorers.

Based on a similar pattern, lets continue our analysis with a different set of data which is goals conceded and goals scored per match. For each club you will see two towers and the greater the difference between them shows the greater goal difference.

Since in the below graph, the Blue tower represents the amount of goal scored and the red tower A positive goal difference is when the Blue tower is higher than red.

The high red towers of Mohammedan SC and Rangdajied United FC shows how they have struggled in defending and both of them have a goal difference of -5 while clubs like Salgaocar FC, Pune FC, Bengaluru FC, United SC and Shillong Lajong FC enjoy a positive goal difference.

Now, lets focus on how the goals were scored after Airtel i-League Round 3. The 3D graph have three axes:
X-Axis: Goals
Y-Axis: Club Name
Z-Axis: 15 Minute Period of the Game

Highest goal scoring quarter: 45-60 Minutes and 75 to 90 Minutes (9 Goals Each)
Least Goals Scoring Quarter: 15-30 Minutes (2 Goals)
Tallest Tower: United Sports Club (3 Goals in the quarter 75 to 90 Minutes)

So, to finish up our reviews, we would bring up to you the last three statistics which are the Man of the Match awards, the goal scorers list and the League table after Round 3.

Calum James Angus(Pune FC), Darryl Duffy(Salgaocar FC), John Johnson(Bengaluru FC) have already made a superb start to their debut campaign in i-League with 2 Man of the Matches award as early as round 3.
