Shillong Lajong FC sign Camerron Forward Charles Edoa Nga 

Shillong Lajong Football Club has officially signed Charles Edoa Nga for the I-League 2013-14 season.

The 23 year old Edoa, who hails from Cameroon, played for the U-17 national football team in 2006 and the U-20 national football team in 2008.

The young striker joined Union Douala in 2008 which competes in the MTN Elite One of Cameroon. During his first season at the top level, he went on to score two goals and also gained immense exposure and experience from playing in the 2009 CAF Confederations Cup.

The Cameroonian who was in an impeccable form went on to score many more goals during his second as well as third season with Union Douala, and earned himself the accolade of being the top scorer of the club in 2011.

Edoa who is known to have the ability to play on either flanks or as a stiker said that, “I am very happy and looking forward to joining Shillong Lajong FC,which I think,in my opinion,is one of the few Clubs who have a really huge fan base in India.So my main focus is to go there,play well for the team,and bring joy to the fans, because I know how much they love their Club and their football.”

Shillong Lajong General Secretary Larsing Ming Sawyan said: “Charles is a great signing for us, and my gratitude goes to Libero Sports for bringing us a quality player. He is a player with good experience at club and international level with Cameroon, in spite of his young age, and we believe he will add significant quality to our squad this coming season.”

Shillong Lajong Football Club welcomes Edoa to the home of the Reds, and hope his signing will add impetus to the current squad with his imposing pace and strength.
