India climb 24 places to rank 143rd in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings

Despite having a torrid time during the AFC Challenger Cup 2014 qualifiers, Team India have made a steep increase of 24 places to rank 143rd (with 177 points) among all the nations in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings. India now are placed second among the SAFF nations while being 22nd among the nations coming under Asian Football Confederation(AFC) after climbing 9 places. Japan(26th), Australia(39th) and Korea Republic(47th) are the top three sides of the continent in respective order. Among the most improved nation Afghanistan after their valiant display in the AFC Challenger Cup 2014 qualifiers, have gained a huge 48 places to rank 141 overall and 21st in the continent.
