The 30 member strong, India National Football Team would be leaving for a Preparatory Camp scheduled to be held in Dubai, for the forthcoming AFC Challenge Cup. The camp would kick start from February 15, 2012.

The team leaves Delhi on Wednesday, and would board a flight at 8.40pm.

National Coach Savio Medeira lauded AIFF for getting the tour arranged and said, “Its always important to prepare yourself and the team before such a big tournament. Specially going to Dubai where there would be good infrastructure and facility. Hope the camp would be very helpful in our preparation.”

He also expressed confidence in the players selected for the camp and quipped,  “The squad selected for the camp are very talented, hope they all would perform to their potential.”

He also expressed happiness over Team playing 2 International Friendly before the Challenge Cup and added “It would add to their experience and preparation for the Challenge Cup.”

The National team is slated to play International Friendly against:

1.    vs Oman in Muscat on February 23, 2012. 


2.    vs Azerbaijan in Dubai on February 27, 2012.



Following is the list of 30 Players and the eight Officials who would be travelling for the Camp:

Goalkeepers: Karanjit Singh, Subhasish Roychowdhury, Arindam Bhattacharya, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu.


Defenders: Nirmal Chhetri, Raju Gaikwad, Sameer Naik, Gourmangi Singh, Anwar Ali, Kinsukh Debnath, Syed Rahim Nabi, Arnab Mondal, Gurjinder Singh. 


Midfielders: Adil Khan, Anthony Pereira, Clifford Miranda, Reisangmi Vashum, Baldeep Singh, Lester Fernandes, Rocus Lamare, Francis Fernandes, Jewel Raja, Manish Mathani, Lenny Rodrigues, Lalrindika Ralte.


Forwards: Sunil Chhetri, Sushil Singh, CS Sabeeth, Manandeep Singh, Joaquim Abranches .
