Mohun Bagan is all set to withdraw again from Durand Cup this year after they did the same last year as a part of their protest against a rule that is imposed by the Defence. Every year from 1st to 15th October in the Maidan Area of Kolkata (where most footballing houses are situated and which is a Defence property), all sporting activities are suspended during this time and it is also barred to keep any lights on. Regular administrative work is also severely hampered. The club has thus, once again sent a letter to the Durand Committee regarding their problem and that they will not be participating this time too.
