FIFA World Cup Qualifiers: UAE vs INDIA - Ridiculous referee wins it for UAE

UAE 3-0 India(FT)
UAE: Hamdan Al Kamali (P,21'), Mohamed Al Shhehi(P,29'); Ismail Al Hammadi(80')

The scoreline reflects nothing of what happened during the match, and the MAN OF THE MATCH should be given to the On-Field Qatari Referee who seemed to have lost his specs somewhere when he flashed two unnecessary red cards within the span of just 4 minutes.

Till the referee came into Limelight, India were well on par with the overwhelming favourites UAE. It started in the 19th minute when Debabrata Roy was given the marching orders for holding on to Al Wehaibi inside the box. The penalty looked quite obvious but the red card was never really on the reckoning. Hamdan Al Kamali converted from the spot to give the host an early lead.

The video footage showing Subrata Pauls sent off. Watch it and Judge it....

Then came the most controversial part of the match when on the 22nd minute Subrata Paul latched on to a free kick taken from just outside the box. UAE forward Ismail Al Hammadi was coming on towards Subrata when Subrata raised his Knee, the very next moment the forward was down holding his lower abdomen. The contact seemed minimal if not any. Then came referee again into action, and flashed the red card in no time. No one on the pitch could not believe their eyes neither did the spectators watching on their TV sets. Replays showed that the Al-Ahli FC forward made a mockery of the moment. The funniest thing in the incident was that the player jumped up to share few words with Subrata after few seconds from the incident, but somehow the referee missed that too.

Indian players and officials were left red faced by the 4 minutes Horror show at the Sheikh Khalifa International Stadium. At one moment it seemed that India might withdraw from the match, but the players held on to their nerves and went on with the game. Steven Dias had to be sacrificed for Karanjit Singh. Karanjit first interaction with the game happened after he came on as the sub, he failed to stop the penalty from Mohamed Al Shhehi and that made the scoreline 2-0 in UAE's favour. With 9 players on the pitch Coach Armando Colaco had no other option but to Defend. Jeje was the lone man upfront and Chhetri had to cover the midfield. India did extremely well until Ismail Al Hammadi scored one past Karanjit Singh in the 80th Minute. The match ended 3-0 and some credit should go to Custodian Karanjit after he denied few goal bound chances.

India has a very tough task ahead with the 3-0 scoreline against them going in to the home leg in Amedkar Stadium, New Delhi on 28th July.
