i-League Concludes with few surprises

The 2010-11 i-League season concluded with few surprises and twists at the end. HAL came out of the relegation zone with a 4-2 triumph against a side which thrashed a relegation threatened side 14-0 only a few days before. East Bengal won 2-1 against Chirag United to finish runners up ahead of Dempo and Churchill Brothers.

Two sides that had to face the axe of relegation were ONGC and JCT(who have never been relegated ever).  Salgaocar were crowned as the champion. Thus this season concluded with some new exciting prospects came up as well as some veteran played their part in their respective teams success. Indian Arrows turned out to be a revolution with some stellar performances and finished 9th out of 14 teams.

Two new teams Shillong Lajong and SC Goa are all set to join the i-League main draw once again provided they pass the AFC Licensing Criteria.

When this season had many exciting and mouth watering games, one thing that must have stung the Indian Football Fans hopes was the lack of Live Telecast. We hope that the next season AIFF serves their fans better.
