AFC Challenge Cup 2012 Qualifiers: India defeated Pakistan 3-1

India 3-1 Pakistan (FT)
IND: Jeje (67′,90+3′), Dias (90′)
PAK: Arif (32′)

The Indian team came from being a goal down to secure a thumping 3-1 victory over their arch rivals Pakistan. In a game which India dominated from the word go, the first goal came against the run of play because of an error from Indian defender Anwar Ali which the Pakistan team capitalized on to grab the lead through Mehmood Arif in the 32nd minute. The score remained the same despite India's constant pressure.

Jeje Lalpekhulua, 2 goals, Another fantastic performance

If the first half showed India's dominance, the second half saw India having a big chunk of possession but somehow they were not able to grab the goal. The goal finally came at the 67th minute through Jeje. There was more drama to follow in the final few minutes, when India went all out for the decisive win. Right Midfielder Steven Dias scored in the 90th minute which gave India the lead and thrashed all hopes from Pakistani supporters. If that was not enough, young sensation Jeje Lalpekhulua scored his second goal of the game and third goal in 3 matches, in the 3rd minute of stoppage time to make it 3-1 for the Indian team.

India next faces Turkmenistan in their final encounter on 25th March.
