Michael Chopra wants to play for India

In a sensational news that has come through Arunava Chaudhuri, a founder of Indianfootball.com, is that English born Michael Chopra desired his wish to play for India. Michael Chopra is of Indian decent becuase of his Indian father and currently plays for Cardiff City. Michael Chopra contacted AIFF officials through his agents and expressed his desire to play for India. For this matter to materialize Chopra will be flying back to Dubai where Indian team are currently undergoing preperations for the prestigious AFC Asia Cup 2011.

Michael Chopra will also meet Indian National Team Coach Bob Houghton and meet the Indian players too. Now the interesting thing is that, the rule does not allow him to play for India as India does not allow players with dual citizenship to represent India. If he somehow manages to play for Indian team, it will be a huge boost to the team before the AFC Asia Cup.
