Maria Rebello became the second women referee to make it to the AFC Elite panel. Maria Rebello who is from Goa officiated a match in the Santosh Trophy where AFC officials were present to inspect her performance.
She now joins Pratap Singh in the AFC Elite Panel of Referees for 2011. Shaji Kurien and Dinesh Nair were included in the AFC Elite Panel of Assistant Referees whereas Arumughan Rowan and Chongtham Keilyani Chanu AFC Elite Fourth Official and AFC Elite Women Assistant Referee respectively.
