The real results are astonishing when compared to previous reports.
There were two sets of AFC Licensing criteria which needed to be fulfilled by the i-ieague clubs.
- AFC Club Licensing Criteria for i-League
- AFC Club Licensing Criteria for Asian Champions League
Except JCT all other I-league clubs have failed to fulfill the AFC Club Licensing Criteria(for I-league).
All clubs have failed to fulfill the AFC Club Licensing Criteria for ACL(Asian Champions League).
All stadiums have failed to cope up with the criteria which demanded as A-Class Stadium.
The two giants from Kolkata, Mohun Bagan and East Bengal have fulfilled almost the criteria for i-League except having the same chairman for both the clubs.
The third club from Bengal, Chirag united failed to fulfill two of the criterias. Their home ground (The Barasat Stadium) is not even considered for i-League and AFC team thinks that they(Chirag United) does not have the staffs required to run a professional club.
The AFC Team does not think Pune FC, HAL and ONGC has professional management staff and thus could not fulfill the AFC Criteria for i-league.
HAL, ONGC and Air India are not commercial entities.
The deadline for fulfilling the AFC Club Licensing Criteria is 31st December. If a club does not fulfill the criteria by the required time then they will not be eligible to participate from next years i-League.
