Key decisions taken by the League Committee
The League Committee members met under the Chairmanship of Mr. Subrata Dutta at AIFF Headquarters, Football House, Dwarka, New Delhi on Wednesday (July 5, 2017). The following key decisions were taken by the committee:
  • I League and Indian Super League(ISL) to be held simultaneously for the 2017-18 season after the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 concludes.
  • The Committee agreed on the proposal to organise a league for PSUs and Corporates from 2017/18 season, provided that all the expense will be bourne by the participating teams.
  • AIFF Executive Committee to make the final call on the number of foreigners in the League.
  • I League to be broadcasted by Star Sports with superior quality.
  • Funds approved for I-League:

    • Special subsidy: Rs. 20 lakhs per club
    • Travel subsidy: Rs. 50 lakhs per Club
    • Central Marketing expenditure of Rs. 1 crore by AIFF, subject to the Clubs submitting their local marketing plan to the Federation before AIFF placing the Central Marketing expenditure to the AIFF Finance Committee.
