A sensational strike from Eugeneson Lyngdoh gave Bengaluru FC the edge after the first leg of the AFC Cup 2016 semi finals as Bengaluru FC played out a 1-1 draw against title defenders Johor Darul Ta'zim away from home in Malaysia's Larkin Stadium on Wednesday.
Amrinder's heroics in the goal kept the score 0-0 at half time with the Blues keeper making some fine saves. Bengaluru FC had also their share of chances to grab the lead but the lacked the finishing touch. It was Jorge Pereyra Díaz who finally broke the deadlock with a fine header as the home side backed by a ferocious crowd took the lead. The joy for the home side was short lived as Eugeneson Lyngdoh skipped past couple of JDT players and unleashed a venomous effort that beat the goalkeeper all ends up.
With the scoreline remaining the same, its advantage Bengaluru FC when they would host Johor Darul Ta'zim at the Kanteerava Stadium on 19th October with the attacking trio of Jorge Diaz, Lucero and Amri Yahyah, all suspended after receiving yellow cards in the first leg.
