India U-16 who are on an exposure tour as a part of their preparations for the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017 played a 2-2 draw against German side FC Koln. The youngsters came back twice to earn a respectable draw in their exposure tour.

The visiting Indian team were handed an early setback as FC Koln U16 got a penalty as early as the 5th minute of the game which they duly converted. The lead gave the hosts more confidence as they piled up the pressure on the Indian defense but the back-line held strong. The Indian team equalized in the 20th minute from a nice exchange between Komal and Joysana before the latter placed a calm finish past the German custodian. The momentum of the game shifted after the equalizer as the Indian colts took control of the possession and threatened to take the lead.

After the break, FC Koln took the lead with a thunderous strike leaving Indian goalkeeper Dheeraj helpless. Indian team then shifted up a gear and had some clear chances to equalize. Boris in particular had some wonderful chances but could not apply the finishing touch. The young blues however did not bow down and were rewarded with a penalty in the dying minutes of the game. Amarjit stepped up and kept his calm to give the Indian team a creditable draw against the two time(2010-11,2011-12) U-17 Bundesliga champions from West Zone.
