The first match of the U-18 Girls Junior National Football Championship 2015 kicked off at Navelim Ground, Salcette between Karnataka and Chandigarh at 7:30am. Both teams started off on a fine note with both testing the opposition’s goalkeeper in the earlier exchanges. Karnataka took advantage of a defensive lapse and Lerissa Sweety D’Silva scored a goal in the 13th Minute. Chandigarh fought hard to equalize and came close twice to scoring a goal but could not get past the goalkeeper on both occasions. Karnataka led at Halftime with a 1-0 lead. Trupti Gangamma put Karnataka ahead with a 2 goal lead with a fine strike at goal in the 53min. Chandigarh fought hard to pull a goal back and at times looked like the better side of the two on the Football field. Their efforts went in vain and Karnataka emerged victorious 2-0 in the first game of the U-18 Girls Junior National Football Championship 2015.
Match No. 2: Sikkim v/s Maharashtra, Raia Panchayat Ground, Salcette

The match between Sikkim and Maharashtra was an evenly contested game which saw strong midfield action and good attacking play from both sides. Maharastra took the lead in the 11 min through Jyoti Mehra who intercepted a pass and dribbled past two defenders while deftly placing the ball past the rival goalkeeper. As the match went on, Maharashtra settled down with midfielder Smriti Girish playing the central role in feeding the forwards with goal threatening passes. In the second half, Jyoti Mehra seized on one opportunity and made it 2-0 for Maharashtra. Akanksha Kandelkar and Jyoti combined well but Sikkim Goalkeeper Sindhu Dolma Tamang stood stall and exhibited some brilliant saves. The match ended in favour of Maharastra 2-0.
Match No. 3: Meghalaya v/s Chhattisgarh, Rosary Ground, Navelim, Salcette
Meghalaya 6-1 Chhattisgarh

Meghalaya trounced Chhattisgarh 6-1 in the final match of the day played at Rosary Sports Complex, Navelim. Rushia Dhar scored a brilliant hat-trick while Nisilia Majaw scored a brace. Aitihun Majaw rounded off the tally to secure a tennis score margin for the winners. Arti Naidu pulled one back in the 83rd Minute and reduced the margin for Chhattisgarh. Meghalaya displayed some fine football with swift passes throughout the match and clearly deserved the resounding victory.
