The AIFF U-17 team won the Subroto Cup Football Tournament, defeating Little Angels Paradise Secondary School, Manipur in the finals. The Championship crown was awarded to the AIFF U-17 colts by legendary Brazilian Footballer Pele, who watched the games from the stands.

The AIFF U-17 Colts bagged what they had dreamt off. The AIFF Academy cadets, deserving Champions of the Subroto Cup Football Tournament were handed over the Subroto Cup Champions Trophy by KING Pele at the Ambedkar Stadium in the Capital on Friday.

The AIFF Academy cadets, who had defeated Indonesia 2-0 en route to the finals were a goal behind early on in the 6th minute but later showed their mettle equalizing in the 25th minute through Bodo, who tapped the ball in from close range after some good work from Jaya.

The scoreline read 1-1, as the referee blew first half whistle.

AIFF U-17 squandered several golden opportunity before latching onto one in the 54th minute when Rahul Yadav's curling shot beat the Manipuri goalkeeper from 25 yards.

Edmud and Nijwm scored a goal each to make the scoreline 4-1 at the final whistle and thus being rewarded by the graceful presence of Pele.
