Mohun Bagan sign Honduran striker Georgie Welcome
Mohun Bagan has signed Honduras International George Welcome. The 6ft 4in tall Honduran striker will be joining Sanjoy Sen's brigade who are the defending champions of i-League.

Georgie Welcome, started his career for local club Arsenal de Roatán  before playing for Honduran top division side C.D. Motagua. Famous French side, AS Monaco signed Welcome on loan from Motagua in 2011, before his Mexican venture for Club Atlas. After Motagua, the striker joined Honduran top division side Platense FC in December 2013. After that Georgie Welcome had two stints in Thailand - BEC Tero Sasana(2014) and Siam Navy(2015), both teams playing in Thai Super League.

His famous 102nd minute goal in the in the 2008 Men's CONCACAF Pre-Olympic finals against USA saw Honduras U-23 qualify for 2008 Olympics. Having been capped 32 times at the International level for Honduras, Welcome made his senior debut in 2008 against Belize where he scored his first goal for Honduras at Senior level.



Georgie Welcome, who has represented Honduras in Copa Centroamericana, CONCACAF Gold Cup, played all the three group stage matches of FIFA World Cup 2010, South Africa for Honduras as they failed to qualify for the knock out stage.

Primarily a striker, Georgie Wilson Welcome Collins can also play the role of an attacking midfielder and is good in the air. He is expected to be a part of Mohun Bagan camp for the pre-season.
