A second string side fielded by Eelco Schattorie could not respond to the visiting team's early goal and crashed out of the AFC Cup 2015. Mohammed Amri Yahyah's 7th minute goal off a cross from the left side by Hariss Harun was sufficient for the visiting Johor Darul Ta'zim(JDT) to beat East Bengal as the Malaysian side booked their berth in the last 16 and the Red and Golds crashed out of the tournament with a game still left to play. East Bengal were dominant after the initial nervy spell but could not convert the chances that came their way.

i-League Champions created history as the Blues sealed their berth in the last 16 with skipper Sunil Chhetri scoring a brace. Former United Sikkim FC striker Pablo Rodrigues opened the scoring for the home side in the 62nd minute as he converted from Samdhooh Mohamed's cross. It took Bengaluru FC just 10 minutes to respond after Mohamed Saaif handed the ball inside the box, with the referee awarding the spot kick for the visitors. Sunil Chhetri duly took the chance and equalized. Seven minutes later, Bengaluru FC showed their steel when Sunil Chhetri volleyed home from a chip by Udanta. 12 points from 5 games were sufficient for Bengaluru FC to confirm their place in the round of 16 with a game in hand. Next, Bengaluru FC host the group leaders Persipura Jayapura(Indonesia) as Ashley Westwood's side look to top their group in their debut campaign in AFC Cup.
