Former Kiwi coach Ricki Herbert is in contention for Indian National Team |
Former New Zealand Head Coach, Ricki Herbert and former Indian National Team Head Coach Stephen Constantine had been shortlisted for the Indian Senior National Team Head Coach post which is left vacant after Wim Koevermans' departure. Also, Mr. Scott O’Donell's name was forwarded to the AIFF Executive Committee, to replace Robert Baan. Candidates shortlisted for Head Coach of the Indian U-17 National Team for the FIFA 2017 U-17 World Cup, are to be interviewed.
The decision was taken by the AIFF Technical committee meet at the Cooperage Stadium, Mumbai which was chaired by legendary Indian striker, Bhaichung Bhutia on Sunday, 22nd December 2014.
“We zeroed down to a certain criteria while short listing the Head Coach of the Indian Senior National Team. We took into consideration the candidate’s experience with Indian Football and also prior International experience while coaching a National Team. We will select one among either Mr. Constantine or Mr. Herbart soon,” Bhaichung Bhutia was quoted saying to the AIFF Media Team.
