Team India got to a flying start in the SAFF Women's Championship after they ran riot over Maldives with a 8-0 scoreline. The Group A encounter was played in Islamabad, Pakistan on Thursday, 13th November 2014.

Four goals from striker Bala Devi, two from Kamala Devi while Bembem and Jyoti, meant the defending champions made a solid start to their SAFF championship campaign.

India next play Bangladesh on 15th November 2014.
