Gurpreet Singh Sandhu has signed a three-year contract with Norwegian top division, Tippeligaen side Stabaek FC after impressing on trials.
The tall Punjabi goalkeeper, was on trial with Stabæk since May. Gurpreet announced the signing on twitter as one of his tweets read "A proud day for my country and for me as I am pleased to announce I have signed for @stabaekfc #HappyIndependenceDay."
The former East Bengal and Pailan Arrows goalie, thus becomes the fifth footballer to join the likes of Mohammed Salim(Celtic FC), Bhaichung Bhutia(Bury FC), Sunil Chhetri(Sporting Kansas) and Subrata Paul(FC Vestsjaelland) who have plied their trade abroad.
Stabæk, who are currently 9th in the Tippeligaen, is a part of the multi-sport organization Stabæk IF and is managed by former USA and Egypt coach Bob Bradley.
