As the next step towards their endeavour of “Pass it forward” campaign they came with here in India earlier this year, English Premier League club West Bromwich Albion has pledged to support training of 25 kids at the Delhi’s prime football grassroots development academy Youth Football International.

As is the usual norm Worldwide, West Bromwich Albion club realises that the real talent lies with a little weaker sections of society and to help fund their training and raise the level of the game in India, the EPL club came out with the player development fund.

Hailing from Birmingham, the English Premier League hosts a huge Punjabi community, which is one of the major reasons for the club to make foray into India, in addition to the huge potential they feel the country with over 1.2 billion population has, especially with football picking up and a lot happening on the front.
West Bromwich Albion came to Delhi in January where they conducted a talent hunt. All the selected boys train with their partner academy in Delhi at Youth Football International and a few of them represent their teams in the Delhi Youth League.

Youth Football International is an academy setup by 2 Europeans and conducts its operations typically like a European club with a UEFA A licensed coach from Spain heading the training activities. YFI also found Delhi Youth League, a league played by 6-18 year old kids over a span of 6-8 months.  They field teams there and give kids a platform to not only train but play atleast 20 competitive games each season, a very important aspect for player development.

YFI hence, is now looking for talents to join their academy and get regular training and game time along with a pair of shoes and some transport money. The trials are now on every Tuesday at 6 at the American Embassy School Tiger Turf.

Interested enthusiasts could contact them at anub@youthfootballinternational.com and be a part of the football revolution.

YFI feels that people often say- "To be the best you need to train with the best, " but a factor goes missing here, precisely being trained by the best as well.  And hence, to provide a unique experience of the three, enthusiasts are propelled to come and try out their luck.
