Churchill Brothers riding on another great performance from their players defeated Oscar Bruzon's SC Goa 3-1 in the Federation Cup 2014 Finals played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi, Kerala. Balwant Singh, Abdelhamid Shabana and Alesh Sawant were the scorers for the Red Machines while Victornio Fernandes scored the lone goal for SC Goa. After a good start to the game, SC Goa never really managed to recover themselves after conceding the first goal. Abdelhamid Shaban was the star performer of the game marshaling the midfield while keeping the SC Goa midfield chasing shadows. The first goal came from the in-form Balwant Singh when he took full advantage of a defensive mix up before rounding off the goalkeeper to score into an open net in the 21st minute. Alesh Sawant doubled the lead in the early moments of the second half when he placed the ball into an open net after some great work down the right side from Anthony Wolfe. Abdelhamid Shabana capped his wonderful performance with an equally good goal in the 64th minute as the ball rifled into the back of the net after he was released by a wonderful pass from Saran Singh. Three minutes later, Victornio Fernandes reduced the margin to two goals as he was sent clean through by Ogba Kalu in the 64th minute. The scoreline remained 3-1 in Churchill's favour, thus giving them their maiden Federation Cup title.
