Dempo SC Juniors loose out to Betalbatim SC

Juniors lost to Betalbatim Sports Club 1-4 in the finals of the GFA organised second division U-16 tournament held at Duler Ground today. Betalbatim Sports Club led 2-0 at the half time.

Betalbatim managed to maintain their supremacy through counter attacks during the entire match, while Dempo Juniors, which comprised of talented football players from schools around Mapusa were outplayed by the Salcete based team in the first half.

However, Dempo Juniors gathered momentum in the second half and managed to score the lone goal in the 44th minute through Akash Munshi, but a couple of defensive errors in the final minutes cost them the match and it ended in the score line of 1-4.

Goa’s Lusofonia Games football team coach, Francisco Neto, gave away the prizes for Winners while ex-India International Samir Naik gave the trophy for Runners up.
